However, don’t worry! The 3-4-3 King Kong Football Manager 2023 tactic still score goals, but aims to keep clean sheets and instead break on the counter rather than dominating the game in the opposite final third.
Actually, this solid 3-4-3 Football Manager 2023 tactic turned AS Roma into a power house and is perfect for those mid-table clubs who might be inferior to their opponents and requires a more conservative approach.

The 3-4-3 Formation | FM23 King Kong Tactic

In my latest tactics created in Football Manager 2023 I’ve done exactly that! Meet the tactic that made the Rome side blew up the Italian league and become European champions!
The FM23 King Kong tactic features a very robust defence with three at the back, a double pivot in front of the back line and two wingbacks who will let you play with a back five out of possession! The result is a rock solid FM23 tactic that helps you to carve out those vital points!
The Player Roles of “King Kong” Tactic
Goalkeeper
Role: Sweeper Keeper – Defend
Instructions: None
The Sweeper Keeper regularly pushes high up the pitch in order to control the space behind the defence. Taking on a more active role in assisting the team with attacks and maintaining possession. With defend on the keeper will be more cautious.
Center Backs
Role: Ball Playing Defender – Defend
Instructions: Dribble more, Tackle harder
Ball Playing Defender is to stop the opposing attackers from playing and to clear the ball from danger when required. However, unlike standard central defenders, the Ball Playing Defender is encouraged to launch defence splitting through balls from deep to generate counter-attacking opportunities.
Wing Backs
Role: Wing-Back – Automatic
Instructions: Stay wider, Tackle harder
Wing Backs must fulfill all the attacking and defensive duties of wingers and full-backs. With automatic on it switches from defend/support/attack duties.
Defensive Midfielder
Role: Defensive Midfielder – Support
Instructions: Get further forward
Main duties to protect the back line and with get further forward to help in attack
Inside Forwards – AMR/L
Role: Inside Forward – Attack
Instructions: None
Aims to cut inside from flanks and run directly at the centre of the opposition defenders
Advance Forward AF – C
Role: Advanced Forward – Attack
Instructions: Tackle harder
