João Rêgo is a gifted player who can play in all attacking positions. Despite normally playing as a right winger, he can be used both on the left flank or as a second forward by playing as an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 system.
The 17 year old winger who will turn 18 on June 20th, 2023 is currently part of the Benfica Under-19 squad but has also received matches in the reserves league – Revelação U23 – Championship by receiving 213 match minutes over four appearances. He even debuted in the UEFA Youth League against Juventus in October and scored his first goal in that tournament against Maccabi Haifa in November.
The Portuguese Under-18 international stands out for his technical abilities with the ball, his creativity and vision which has made pundits comparing him to João Félix.
