Football Manager 2022 Norwegian Wonderkids & Young Talents to Watch

To help you find Norwegian wonderkids in Football Manager 2022 we reached out to fellow Norwegian blogger FMVeteran to hand you his insight to the next generation of football talents that are coming through in Norway.

Norway has a habit of giving us wonderkids on Football Manager. From Tommy Svindal Larsen on CM1 to Albert Braut Tjåland on FM21, they have delivered players on the assembly line. From one of the top wonderkids in FM22, Erling Braut Haaland to John Arne Riise and John Carew at the end of the 90s, Norway has always been a great place to find cheap wonderkids and bargains.

So when I was asked to write about the new and unknown FM22 Norwegian football talents for this years FM, it was easy to say yes.

After some thorough research, it seems that we will not be disappointed this year either. Below you can read more about some of the most exciting Norwegian talents in FM22 born after 01.01.2003. So without any further ado, here are some of the most exciting Football Manager 2022 Norwegian wonderkids and young talents to watch from the Eliteserien or Obos-ligaen.

#CM Aleksander Andresen (2005) – Stabaek

Aleksander Andresen was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and was out most of the season. However, a few months after he recovered, the transfer to Stabæk was done, and in the first half of the 2021 season, he was loaned back to his parent club Moss FK. Less than a year after he recovered from such a severe illness, he became one of the youngest debutants ever for Moss and the youngest goalscorer ever. Has also made his debut in the Eliteserien for Stabæk and established himself at Norway U16 this season. He is incredibly strong mentally, and this can take him far. He has good technical and physical skills for his age and is considered by many to be far ahead. Best as a box-to-box midfielder, but can also play AMR if needed.

#AML Antonio Nusa (2005) – Club Brugge

I wrote a bit about Antonio Nusa in my list of potential wonderkids, and he has since been sold to Club Brugge and taken the step out of Norway. A skilful winger with lots of flair and with an excellent long shot. He already made his mark in the Elitserien before he left with three goals in 11 games. Good with both feet and can play off both wings.

It will be exciting to see how good he can become, but he will definitely be hard to get in the first season.

#ST Elias Hoff Melkersen (2002) – Ranheim (On loan from Bodo/Glimt)

Born on 31.12.2002, he’s basically a 2003 model and exciting enough to make an exception for this list. He was loaned to Ranheim in the Obosligaen for this season to gain more experience and has scored goals. At the time of writing, he has 17 goals in 26 games in the series and cup, which is an imposing number for an 18-year-old. Hoff Melkersen is no typical striker in the form that he runs a lot and works hard. However, he can be developed into a high-class pressing forward. He has good technical skills already and has room to grow a lot.

#AML Tobias Gulliksen (2003) – Strømsgodset

Many see him as the next great talent from Stromgodset after Martin Odegaard, and one has waited a long time for him to break. He got a few games in 2020, but it is only this season that he has established himself as a first choice. He is perhaps best as a winger for now, even though he has played CM in all years. He will probably be the best in the middle of the field in the long run, as he lacks some speed to become a wing of the highest class. Has good vision and all over solid technical stats. Gulliksen is probably one of the most expensive on this list. A future full international for Norway.

#AMC Runar Norheim (2005) – Tromsø

Became the youngest debutant for Tromso at 15, beating Isak Hansen-Aaroen’s record. A very allround player with no big strengths or weaknesses, given enough time and potential, he can be moulded into exactly the player you want him to be. Described as a player with his head at the right place, I expect him to have good mental stats and a good platform for further development. Should be fairly easy to bring to your club.

#AMC Odin Thiago Holm (2003) – Vålerenga

Added Thiago as a middle name after his role model Thiago Alcantara. He made his debut in the Eliteserien as a 16-year-old in 2019 and established himself in the first team at Valerenga. He is as good as CM as he is further forward in the field. Like many other young midfielders, Holm has his strength in the offensive part of the game. He is very comfortable with the ball and will try killer balls often. His technical skills and vision make him a brilliant prospect as a playmaker. He is very ambitious and determined, so he will probably reach large parts of his potential. No cheap investment from Norway, but it will probably be worth the money.

#AML Jacob Dicko Eng (2004) – Vålerenga

One of the most exciting attacking talents in Norway at the start of the game. He has already played several matches in the Eliteserien for Valerenga and has impressed with his excellent technique and flair. Eng can play across all attacking positions and is probably best suited and most comfortable on the wing. He has good physical skills and cuts inside from the left with pace and precision. Did recently sign a new contract, so expect him to have a high price tag for the Norwegian market.

#DC Olav Veum (2004) – Stabaek

A forward-thinking defender from the fantastic academy at Stabaek. He can play all across the backline but is most comfortable as a centre back. Has excellent physical and technical stats to be so young and has a promising future ahead of him. He even says he loves to defend, and what more could you want from a promising defender? At the same time, he is good with the ball and a good leader. Are you looking for a ball-playing defender or wide centre back for the future? Look no further.

#GK Peder Hoel Lervik (2005) – Molde

Perhaps the most outstanding goalkeeper talent in the country under 18 in the game. A modern goalkeeper who is good with the ball in his legs and a good shot-stopper. So young that he is reasonably undescribed yet, but he looks like a fantastic talent on FM22.

A must buy with those stats.

#CM Syver Aas (2004) – Odds BK

An all-round midfielder with great potential. Has been seen as immense talent for a long time now and had a trial with Juventus a couple of years ago. Got his debut in the Elitserien this season and is a mainstay in Norway’s youth teams so far. Aas’ has no significant strengths nor weaknesses and can suit all roles in the midfield. With no stats under 8 and only one over 12, he can be moulded into whatever type of midfielder you want. Looks like an excellent prospect for a box-to-box midfielder. Like last year, he will be rather expensive to buy but will probably justify the transfer fee long-term.
